Establishment and activity of municipal committees in the schools of Charikar city as an awareness and education program for citizens!
The program of the school’s municipal committee is as follows: Awareness and education program in relation to urban affairs in schools, with a greater focus on cleaning, revenue, and urban governance. The project was designed by the Afghanistan Local Government Program (UNDP – ASGP) to work primarily with young people and youth through partnerships between municipalities and schools. This project is inspired by the experiences of the city (Kathmandu) of Nepal in order to create training clubs. The project identifies children as potential agents of change in society and believes that this school education and awareness program can bring about positive changes in society by changing the way, behavior and attitudes of not only children but also their teachers and parents. Create. The daily efforts and discussions of school students in order to better regulate environmental and urban affairs according to their new teachings through this program and in addition to retelling programs and achievements in the context of families, also encourages students’ parents to new standards of life and environment. In general, this program; Ensures broad and continuous public participation in urban affairs. The school’s municipal committee is in fact a representation of the municipality’s will and mission on a smaller scale at the level of each school, and its affairs are regulated by the students. In addition, it can be said that this program, as a small institute of urban governance, educates the next generation about urban affairs and the role of the people in cleanliness, development and urban development. And the general purpose of establishing the school committee of the school and launching the awareness and educational program in the schools is to make changes in the society by making changes in the behavior and attitude of the students of the schools.
The school’s municipal committee consists of the student executive committee (mayor, deputy mayor, public awareness officer, treasurer, board members, and public members) all of whom are students. However, the school principal and one of the professors, as a guide, are also included in this organization. According to this plan, and goals for the past two years, the program of the Municipal Committee has been activated in (15) Charikar girls ‘and boys’ schools and Parwan University and they have enjoyed good results. (Mir Ali Ahmad Shahid Women’s High School, Hazrat Hafsa (RA) Women’s High School, Hara Hala Jalali Women’s High School, Khajeh Siaran Pa’in Women’s High School, Leila Sarahat Roshani Women’s High School, Tajrbavi Women’s High School, Sadeghi Women’s High School, No. 1 Urban and Abdullah Amiri High School And (Mir Ali Ahmad Shahid Male High School, Hazrat Numan Ibn Thabet (RA) Male High School, Mir Abdul Karim Maqool Male High School, Hazrat Sadeghi (RA) Male High School and Tajrbavi Male High School) are among the schools in which municipal committees currently operate. The role of these committees is to institutionalize the culture of urbanization and the cooperation of the people with the municipality, and to pay more attention to making positive changes in the students’ view and behavior regarding urban affairs; In this way, the culture of urbanization is better institutionalized in the school, family and community. Undoubtedly, the role of students in keeping the city clean will have positive effects in order to maintain order in school and community. And teaches them that the cleanliness of the city is not the sole responsibility of the municipality; Rather, all citizens should be involved in this. In summary, the use of this program strengthens the commitment of the next generation to urban affairs, cleanliness and environmental clean-up, and urban development.
